Flowers in the Middle of the Road

I went on a long hike today through the apple orchards and vineyards around the Kibbutz. Here are some of the fruits of my walk... pun? Maybe.
No idea what kind of tree this is, but I don't think I ever seen a blossom quite like this. It is really impressive if you can take in the splendor of the whole tree. Unfortunately, it is difficult to capture on film... this is as close as I could get.
I had never seen a kiwi tree before. It is strange. It is like half tree, half vine. It is supported on lines like grape vines, but the tree has a definite trunk as well.
This is a flower that was blooming in the middle of the road... thus, the title of this blog.
This plant was probably about six inches tall, but I tried to make it look bigger.

I can't believe you're staying in a kibbutz! It looks (more than) magnificent. Do you get to go outside of Israel at all? to Palestine or other area countries? I suppose the security situation isn't great in the area lately...
